This piece looks into the diverse approaches to city-scale urban agriculture (UA) taken by seven cities and to summarize the key learnings from the practices. The cities were selected for their diverse practice and also experiences across urban and national policies, grassroots activities and civic leadership relating to UA. This is crucial to strengthen the call to develop pro-poor UA policies as part of the wider urban food system network in Dhaka and elsewhere. This article is a summary of studies on urban agriculture under Paraa’s ‘Terracity’ action research.
