ABOUT TRIPLE IMPACT MODEL

Health & food security

Urban health & food security: through local production & city-wide network of supply chains providing daily harvested fresh, organic vegetables to the local as well as supplying across vegetable markets, restaurants and outlets.

Environmental impact

Environmental impact by enhancing city greening, and overall livability: transforming the concrete roofs and empty plots into green and productive micro vegetable farms by introducing urban appropriate design and agrotechnology. Also, impacting with offsetting carbon and cutting down the food mile thereby reducing carbon emission.

Economic impact

Economic impact through employment and incentives: Employing trained and equipped team of urban farmers and generating income and incentives for apartment and land owners for sharing their roofs and lands.

OUR PROCESS

GREENING THROUGH ORGANIC CULTIVATION

Health & nutrition is our primary concern. ‘Organic & safe’ is ensured through the way vegetables are grown, processed and delivered to you. Our farmers are our strengths, ensuring farm health and yours. They are trained & equipped for urban-appropriate organic farming all the way; from bed preparation to maintenance, composting to pest management, harvesting and safe processing. Each of the growing beds is prepared as a combined layer of organic materials providing all the micronutrients and maintaining optimum conditions for healthy plants and nutrient-rich vegetables. Apart from day-to-day care, our farmers are also equipped for assessment of their farm health maintained under supervision by our horticulture experts. Transparency is what makes us truly exceptional. Producing locally means you can schedule a visit to the nearest farm to see for yourself.

EMPLOYING

LOCAL FARMER - GLOBAL AGROTECH

Each of the farms is monitored by integrating sensors to take plant specific measures for maintaining optimum growth condition. Data is stored for monitoring, analyzing and taking actions accordingly as well for proactive and predictive measures Daily measures: Farmer led monitoring of temperature and humidity and addressing on a daily basis Weekly measures: Optimum pH and pest control measures Expert led measures: Horticulture experts to visit monthly and on call basis to assess the organic matters and micronutrients in the growing media to ensure growing media health for optimum production Proactive measures: Big data for market & weather forecasting and predictive measures in cropping plan and resource allocation in the advanced phases .

SERVING YOU

DIRECTLY FROM FARM TO TABLE

In the case of Dhaka, most of the vegetables that come to our tables are transported across a distance of 120 to 130 miles taking at least 12 to 15 hours. This adds up carbon footprint in transportation, unhealthy preservation measures, damage and loss, and, of course, price hike that is unstable and mostly benefits the middlemen and food agencies in the chain. The mission is to ensure that the produce harvested daily is served and consumed by the locals and the neighborhood, within each of the communities where Terracity operates. Our priority is to serve the produce to the rooftop or landowners and the community sharing their spaces and our responsible consumers subscribed for the service. We want to share food within a mile of its farm and deliver you within an hour.
